Photo-sharing:
I uploaded some of my pictures from my honeymoon in 2007 to Picasa
and these are on my blog as a slide-show.
Twitter:
I opened an account with Twitter.
I added over twenty people to my list, but it is a bit overwhelming!
My twitter name is ChristinaDawnH.
LibraryThing:
I joined LibraryThing and GoodReads.
I wanted to join both and see the differences between the two.
So far I find GoodReads easier to use.
I got to rate a lot of books.
I found that I do not give 5 star ratings,
even for books I really like.
LibraryThing so far seems better suited
for people with larger collections of books.
I tried Second Life last week but found it confusing.
Someone recommended new users go to Orientation Island.
Although I am not officially on this project,
I thought I might go back and see if this helps me.
Skype:
We role-played this week;
once as a patron and once as a staff member.
I learned a lot from the experience
and would like to thank both of my project members.
I'm doing the photo sharing project as well, but haven't had much time with that one yet. I'm also doing the IMing project and I just started a Facebook page.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you liked the Skype chat, I didn't get to do it, I had other commitments with my time this week, but I've looked into Skype a little, and it seems like it could be kind of fun to use.
Hi Chris,
ReplyDeleteYour honeymoon photos are beautiful! Wish I could go visit that way! It was a neat experience Skype-ing with you! I need to familiarize myself a little more with Skype so I can maybe start to use it more regularly.

Hello Chris. I do not think that I would like Second Life to be honest. It seems almost alien. It reminds me of a space station and I do not think that I would ever care for it. I do plan on getting back to checking it out as well, yet I do not think that I will ever like it and do not see a real reason to ever use it unless it were for psych therapy! LOL! I cannot imagine it as anything except a role playing situation. Paper dolls anyone? I just do not think it is acceptable to do that. I do not even like the avatar idea. I understand it; yet I do not like it. Why have a cartoon poised as yourself? If it were one that transformed a real life photo-maybe. Yet, why not use the photo? I guess I have used video instant message enough that I think it is almost childish. That's a personal opinion, yet it is mine and I do not think it will change. Have a good week.
